Speechee is a Lost and Found application, using stickers containing a scanning barcode to identify the items. If a user loses his item, the finder could return the lost item through the application by scanning the item’s barcode and with a unique FedEx integration, returns the item back to the owner. It has been a pleasure working on this unique application from the beginning, specifying the requirements together with the client and developing in an Agile methodology.

The main challenge of the Speechee application was to identify the requirements of the application. The client had only the basic requirements and we worked together to build the requirements. The application logic contains many different flows for within the client and the server side. Integrating with many APIs was a challenge, specifically the FedEx API.

An iOS and Android application that supports both platforms developed in the native coding languages, Swift for iOS and Java for Android. Development of a cloud server hosted in Amazon AWS uses the EC2 instances. Having the communication between the clients and the server running over HTTPS using JSON. The Speechee application contains development of a barcode reader to read barcodes by scanning from the phone camera. The barcode can be scanned from a distance of a few meters for very small objects. Integration with the FedEx API for automatic packaging and delivery and the Twilio API for text messages integration.

The result containing two great applications running on Android and iOS phones. Both applications are uploaded to the Google Play store an to the Apple AppStore public to all.
