Legacy C++ COM Object code that was controlling all the logic of NextNine solution needed to be changed. The senior developer maintaining the code from the client, left for a long sick leave.
Seed Startup House assigned the top C++ engineers from the company to help the client to make changes and maintain the C++ COM object.
The software to control Vendor Machines contained many processes and multithreading, very complex windows pipes to communicate between processes.

The challenge was to enter to a legacy C++ software that was written years back by developers that are no longer with the company. The Seed Startup House teams that were assigned to the task were top professionals with years’ of experience in C++ and COM objects.

The C++ software engineers worked with the client on the C++ COM object. At the beginning for a few weeks, mainly reverse engineering for the existing code, debugging it and understanding the flow. After that we’ve succeeded to make changes as per client’s requests, test and deliver a quality software that includes multithreading and complex pipes in between processes.

Changes to the software, reverse engineering and understanding the pipe and multithreading mechanism was done successfully. We’ve also had sessions in pair programming with the software developers from NextNine to perform knowledge transfer.
